Parties are fun. But they can be trouble if you're not prepared. Here are some tips from other teens on how to stay safe at parties:
*Go with a trusted friend that will always have your back, and that you can depend on to make the right decision under pressure.
*It's always ok to leave if you're uncomfortable.
*If you have a soft drink and leave it, don't drink from it again; get a new drink.
*Never take an open drink from someone.
*Don't drink anything from punch bowls.
*Don't take a drink someone offers you.
*Always know what you're drinking; some alcoholic drinks look like soft drinks or sports drinks.
*Know what will be happening at the party before you go.
*Don't be afraid to talk to your parents about any situation.
*Don't get into situations you have no way out of; have a back-up plan.
*Figure out where the doors are when you get to a party.
*Know where you are; the address, whose house it is.
*Don't go to a house of someone you don't know.
*Let your parents know when you're on your way home.
